A flight reservation shows your proposed journey, including the traveler’s name, route, and travel dates. It gives a visa officer a way to understand your travel plans before you purchase the full flight ticket.
Schengen Travel provides a flight itinerary based on the details you submit in the order form. Choose a route and dates that reflect the trip you actually intend to take, then review the document when it arrives.
A flight reservation records a planned journey. A flight ticket is issued after the fare has been paid and can be used for travel under the airline’s conditions. The reservation supplied through this service is for your visa application; it is not a ticket for boarding a flight.
Whether you need a reservation, a paid ticket, or another form of travel evidence depends on the instructions for your application. Check the current document list from the embassy, consulate, or visa centre handling your case before you order. For a fuller explanation, read our guide to flight itineraries, reservations, and paid tickets.
A Schengen visa application may require evidence of your intended journey into and out of the Schengen Area. A flight reservation can show the entry and departure dates, airports, and planned route without requiring you to pay the full airfare before a visa decision.
Requirements can differ by destination and application location. Follow the checklist issued for your application and make sure the itinerary fits the rest of your travel plans. Our guide on whether you need a flight booking before applying for a Schengen visa explains the distinction in more detail.

Before submitting an itinerary with your visa application, check that it clearly shows:
Check the return journey too if your application calls for one. If a name, date, or route is wrong, contact us to request a correction. Do not edit the reservation document yourself.
A PNR is a booking reference associated with a reservation. If your itinerary includes one, use the verification instructions supplied with the document to check the booking details. The way a reservation can be retrieved may depend on the airline and booking system, so contact support if the reference does not appear on an airline’s public website. Read our PNR guide for visa applications for more information.

The 1-hour flight reservation is listed at $50. Additional flights or optional services may change the total displayed at checkout. If your request has a deadline, enter complete and accurate details so the team can process it without needing to ask for corrections.
A temporary flight reservation does not stay active indefinitely. Its active period can depend on the airline and booking conditions, so check the validity information provided with your specific itinerary. Try to order close enough to your appointment or submission date for the reservation to be useful when you submit it.
If your appointment moves, contact support to ask whether you need an updated reservation. Our guide on flight itinerary validity for visa applications explains what to check.
Your flight dates and route should make sense alongside your visa form, accommodation details, travel insurance, and stated purpose of travel. For example, if your itinerary shows arrival in Paris on 8 November, the accommodation and other trip details should support that plan.
Check the spelling of every traveler’s name and confirm the dates before submitting your application. If your plans change, request a corrected itinerary instead of submitting documents that describe different trips.
