Anyone can apply for a France Schengen visa, and in this article we will tell you exactly how to do it!
France is the number one most visited country in the world, and welcomed over 84 million tourists (!) in 2015. France’s biggest advantage is the sheer variety the country can offer. From amazing ski slopes, vineyards and scenic bicycle tours, to high fashion, an incredible art scene, and an urban cultural flair few other countries can match, France is the dream destination of millions of travelers who come from all over the world. All you have to do in order to make your dream trip to France come true, is apply for your France Schengen visa.

For every Schengen visa application, there are three main requirements that need some extra effort to be obtained. These documents are:
Hotel Bookings:
When applying for a Schengen visa, the visa officer want to see that you have planned and booked your accommodation already. This is why they require both a personal covering letter as well as valid hotel bookings. Most travelers rip their hair out over these requirements, because who wants to pre-book hotels for the next three months?? Certainly not those who like to be spontaneous and follow their heart when they travel. What if you meet other travelers, and you decide to join them to another city than you had planned? What if the weather forecast for your next destination is suddenly nothing but rain and stormy weather? What if you don’t even know where you want to go after your first destination? There are a million reasons why a traveler doesn’t plan their accommodation in advance, but unfortunately, it’s mandatory for your France Schengen visa application (unless you have a host who is officially inviting you!).
Schengen visa flight reservation offers authentic hotel bookings, without the risk of paying for the actual hotel. What does this mean? It means that we make all the hotel reservations in the places and dates you want, and then cancel them for you. You don’t need to give your credit card information, or worry about having to cancel a bunch of different hotels yourself. For a small, one-time fee, we do it all for you, and your France Schengen visa application is golden.
Flight Reservations:
The same principle applies for the flight reservations. Not only is it mandatory for your visa application, but you will not be allowed to check in to your flight at the airport if you do not present a valid flight reservation for an outbound flight. Some people have tried making fake reservations in Photoshop, but this is easily discovered by the visa officer when they call the airline to verify your flight. Check out our options for flight reservations (we offer group discounts!) and hotel bookings, and even bus and train reservations for stricter visa applications. Our flights are 100 % authentic and verifiable (just call the airline and check), delivered to your inbox in hours, and can be safely purchased via PayPal with Buyer Protect. If you have any questions or doubts, just contact us through WhatsApp and we’ll be happy to help!
Schengen Travel Insurance:
There are lots of insurance providers and plans available on the internet, and many decide to choose the cheapest one, or on the other side, choose the most expensive one thinking it’s the best.
Your France Schengen visa application requires a valid travel insurance, and in addition, the travel insurance has to comply with certain Schengen requirements:
- Valid for the entire duration of your stay in the Schengen Member States (sometimes also for an extra 15 days)
- Cover urgent medical expenses, plus repatriation to your country of residence (for example, this means that it covers all expenses in relation to a potential return to your home country)
- Minimum coverage of €30,000

Mandatory Checklist For France Schengen Visa Application:
In addition to valid hotel bookings, a flight reservation and travel insurance, there is a lot of other documents you need to add to your application, but most of these are documents you have at hand or that are easy to get. For your France Schengen visa application you will need:
- Passport – Must be valid for at least 3 months after your intend departure date. Your passport can’t be over 10 years old.
- A filled out Schengen visa application form
- Visa fee (usually €60 – double check if you have to prepay through bank transfer)
- 2 passport photos; (white background, whole head visible, 2×2 inches)
- Passport copy (including both sides of the passport, and copies of previous visas)
- Personal covering letter – find out how to write your personal covering letter.
- Proof of financial means – This requirement is unfortunately very vague, and depends on the price range of each individual Schengen country. Contact your embassy to ask what type of proof you need to add you your France Schengen visa

Make sure you read our other Schengen visa related articles for more tips and tricks to speed up your application process. Make sure you allow enough processing time for your visa.
