STEP 1: Schedule your appointment for Italy visa application in Miami

As soon you land on the online booking system website page https://prenotaonline.esteri.it  you’ll need to register as a new user by just clicking on the button NEW USER REGISTRATION

You need to input all data required for registration.

Once you are done with the new user registration form and confirm you will receive an email with instructions on how to activate your account. Once you activate it, you can log into the system with your username and password

The online appointment booking system of the Consulate General of Italy in Miami is set to book appointments everyday only for the upcoming three months (90days). 

Italian consulate in Miami takes 7 – 15 days to process your visa application in general, in rare cases depending on nationality and applied visa type it may take longer up to 90 days. During seasons it may be difficult to secure an appointment you must check the Prenota Online system daily, if you have gone under waiting list and by chance you got the appointment be sure to email the consulate at visa.miami@esteri.it to remove you from waiting list, for any reason if you no longer require the appointment, please cancel it to allow another applicant to use that time slot as suggested by the consulate.

Step 2: Preparing documents required for Italy visa application

The consulate’s website will provide you the list of required documents, so you can prepare all the documents accordingly make sure the documents are complete,

We have in general listed following documents:

1) Applicants Valid Passport

  • Passport must be issued in the last 10 years,
  • At least valid for 3 months beyond intended return date,
  • 2 blank pages for visa stamping,
  • A copy of the passport.

2) ID Proof – State ID, utility bill or driving license,

3) Permanent Residence Proof – US Alien registration or valid long-term US visa, I-20 (students), I-66 (exchange visitors)

4)  Latest photograph – 1.77 x 1.37 inches, full-face, front view, color with white background, attach it to the application form, check (Schengen visa photo size requirements and specifications)

5) Schengen visa application form – Digitally filled.

6) Proof of sufficient funds – Bank statement for past 3 months

7) Proof of Employment –

  • If employed: Noc letter stating position, salary, and dates of leave

12) Invitation letter in case of attending events, business visit etc.

17) FBI criminal check

18) Details of course/cultural program

19) Documentation of religious qualification and event

20) Birth and/or marriage certificate

21) Military orders

Step 3: Attending the Schengen Visa Interview

Schengen visa interview is the most crucial part as your visa approval depends on your interview so make sure you arrive at consulate before half an hour if you fail to be on time your appointment get cancelled and need to get a new appointment again. Your visa application will be reviewed by the visa officials and will be questioned accordingly, you must carry all the documents with photocopies and face the interviewer confidently.
